Robisz.to Association | Warsaw, Poland

Who is the “maker”? Is he a person who designs useful things? Is it necessary to have a talent to be one?
In our opinion, “making” is hidden inside everyone. It lays in the form of the need to express, create and realize our ideas.
Robisz.to Association is a community of makers, professionals and hobbyists, who share a common passion for making and teaching others how to create based on technological knowledge and craftsmanship skills.
In our activity we treat these as tools to bring positive social changes - we work with groups who suffer exclusion and discuss topics important for the community.
Nurturing creative skills leads to positive social changes, which we have the opportunity to observe during workshops and educational projects.
Seeing the huge need to support the education system of children, youth and adults, we promote the creation of informal educational spaces in the fields of digital fabrication  and crafts - fablabs - which thanks to their dynamics, are more easily adapting to changes in the market.

Vision
Our vision is to create a friendly environment for makers in Poland. We want the largest number of people in Poland to have access to fablabs and makerspaces, where they will be able to create, learn and share knowledge with others.

We try to make sure that values of creative problem-solving skills, become recognizable on the national level and bring with them educational system changes. Through our actions we want to restore the sense of empowerment and independence to people of all ages, resurrect the attractiveness of technical and craft professions and show that anyone can be a maker.

Our Projects:

Fab Academy: Learn How to Make (Almost) Anything

The Fab Academy is a fast paced, hands-on learning experience where students learn rapid-prototyping by planning and executing a new project each week, resulting in a personal portfolio of technical accomplishments. The diploma consists of a 5 month part-time student commitment, from January to June. The Fab Diploma is the result of the sum of Fab Academy Certificates. Progress towards the diploma is evaluated by a student’s acquired skills rather than time or credits. We are the provider of the first Fab Academy program in Poland

Maker woman: a regular training cycle that target women looking for a way to create a prototype of their own project. During 200 hours of workshops and consultations per each edition of the project, the participants learn about the methods of digital fabrication, developed their handicraft and digital skills, which result in the completion of a course with a product ready for further improvement. So far, there were 5 editions of the project, in which 60 women have participated. Some of the highlighted results were: 3D printed prosthetics, mini-landscape and a vermicomposter.

Young Makers: a project addressed to youngsters from socially excluded communities. The aim of the project was to develop youngsters interests and professional qualifications using  digital fabrication and crafts related program. In total, there were 243 hours of classes and consultations with mentors, in which 35 people took part. In addition, 60 hours of open workshops were organized, in which 138 children from orphanages and socio-therapeutic centers participated.

Training of teachers  (ToT): under this idea we carried out several projects: Super Encoders , Mega mission, Makerspace in libraries.

3D Printing Academy - During the 3D Printing Academy classes, youngsters within a series of school meetings increased their skills in 2D, 3D and electronics modeling. Additionally, a selected part of participants had the opportunity to try working with 3D printers, 3D pens, graphic tablets or laser plotters. Thanks to the Academy, students learned how to practice the knowledge gained at school in fields such as electronics, mathematics or computer science.

Our Workshops:

  • Regular workshops - every month we organize workshops in 3D modeling, 3D printing, woodworking, tailoring, laser plotter operation and CNC milling.
  • Customized workshops - tailored on the need of various target groups; schools, families, companies, museums, libraries, etc.
